Rules
Rules Of The Road
Fish Hunter
- Each unique species landed is worth 1 point
- The fish does not have to be desired, edible, an intended/targeted species, or legal size for harvest (these will be released) to be counted
- Landing a fish consists of bringing the fish under full human control (i.e. into the boat), and either successfully releasing it, or getting it into the iced fish box (there will be no credit granted for “close calls”)
- The Captain will assist with handling all fish if desired, and will handle all potentially harmful or undesirable species
- Shark, large gar fish and sting rays will be counted once competitors have brought the fish alongside the boat, such that the Captain can safely cut the leader
- If the Captain determines that his, or a Crew Member’s, mishandle has caused the loss of a fish of unique species, 1 point will be granted for that species
- Competition outings will start the clock when the boat leaves the marina (headed for fishing grounds) and stop casting at exactly the 6 hour mark (species are not cumulative over multiple outings)
- All ties will be broken via time hack at last species catch
- Leaders will be posted on a weekly bases and the competition will span January 1st through December 15th of each year
- On approximately December 16th, a voucher for $250 off your next charter (good for 1 year) and other Christmas goodies, will be mailed to the “Fish Hunter Champion’s” principal patron
- Fish caught between December 16th and December 31st will count towards the following year's prize hunt
